Easter, The Masters and the Elks Club

Well, this Easter certainly has come and gone quickly! It's the sign of Spring for the country. Those in the Northern States are getting antsy for the outdoors about now. It will be a happy time with the first few weeks of getting the yards ready and cleaned up from a whole Winter season.

People may complain, but secretly they are going to enjoy the lawn mowing and yard raking chores ahead of them. At least for a little while! Others will be busy with starting the garden, either vegetables or flowers and sometimes both. The golf clubs have most likely been out of the closet for a couple of weeks by now. The golfers have been chipping off the living room carpet. The soft ballers have been flipping a ball in the air and catching it with their glove. Or picking up a bat and gripping and regripping it. All the while while watching TV.

Finches on the feeder this morning.

Yes, it comes fast while in the desert too. Sam planned a pot luck for the RVers in the afternoon. She also put together an Easter egg hunt earlier in the day. I was watching the final round of the Masters and bowed out of the egg hunt. I caught a glimpse of at least a half dozen people scrambling for Easter eggs. The winner was Anita. She found the most eggs and earned the honor of wearing the "ears" for the rest of the day.

Easter dinner. Anita is the one nearest, with her "ears" on.

Sam and Mac brought the ham. There were all kinds of great dishes. My contribution was the baked beans. I did the crock pot recipe that can be found in the "My Recipes" section on the side bar. It is fool proof. I goofed a bit and had them finished way early. They may have been too cool by the time dinner rolled around. They were almost gone by the time desert was served.

Cathy was still out of town visiting her friends. I spent the rest of the day watching the Masters. It was a great tournament, as usual. It had a side attraction going on with Michelson and Woods and the fantastic show they put on. The battle to the end by the leaders was great too. I just wish they didn't fall apart as much as they did on the last couple of holes. It was almost like nobody wanted to win it. It has to be attributed to the unimaginable pressure these guys find themselves in.

Cathy came home the next day and I was so happy too see her again. She was gone for only two days and it felt like for ever for me.

We just came home from an interview at the local Elks Club. Cathy and I are in the process of joining. We have discovered there are a lot of local lodges out there with RV parking. The Elks Club in Tacoma will solve my problem with a reasonable RV park in the Federal Way area.

We have only two more meetings to do before we find out if we're accepted; the indoctrination meeting and the initiation meeting. We have to be back in the area at the end of May for that.
