It was a perfect distance for a days travel at 200 miles. The sky was cloudy but didn't threaten rain. We were on the road for over an hour and I had not heard from the RV park yet. I called again and again left a message.
At about 80 miles south of Socorro we turned into a rest stop. Rose had to go potty and the grown ups did too! We made a quick change to a plan B. Since we have not heard from our originally planned destination, we chose an alternate park and called them. They had plenty of space and invited us in.

Our original park is located 14 miles outside of Magdalena and with no other parks in the area, we didn't want to chance the possibility they might be full. It always puzzles me when a business that depends on contact with the public to survive, doesn't do basic communication with the public.

We arrived at Kiva RV Park and Horse Motel at about 2:00. We set up and rested with naps. Later we walked around the small park and visited the little farm connected to it. Its seems to be an older park on I-25. We signed up for three days. We figured we should have our bearings for the area by then. Either we would move somewhere else in the area our extend our stay here.
