My stay in Ellensburg was only a two dayer. I just wanted to get someplace and get situated with the factory. Once I had my bearings I would point myself in that direction. I chose an RV park in southwester Washington called Tucannon River RV Park. It looked to be an out of the way place situated on the Tucannon River.
Sometimes exploring these parks can be quite fun. It takes you over areas where you wouldn't otherwise travel. It was only a 180 mile trip. The roads were narrow, winding but all were newly paved and smooth. That was a surprise. A nice surprise. I arrived around 1:30 in the heat of the day. It was hot, hot.
I and one other RV were the only people in the place. The park was an open area in the woods along the river. All the sites were huge and were grassed with green pristine grass everywhere. The roads and the sites were of well kept gravel and were level. It is really a nice park.
The only problem was there wasn't any cell phone reception. That means I was without internet for the two days I was there. The nearest town is Starbuck, four miles east. There, you could get cell reception. I was able to contact the factory to get the status of my trailer. They reported all my affect delamination problems will be addressed. When I explained the extent of the problem, Dave, the factory rep, said they would need the trailer for a week. The only week long window they have right now is for the week of October, 26!
That's all well and good. My worry is that it is awfully late in the year and there might be the possibility of driving south in snow. I dread that. I guess it's all part of the adventure!
In the mean time, I left that little park and am now in Pendleton, OR. I'm staying at the Wildhorse Casino, RV park. I will stay here for a week. That will get me through Labor Day weekend, which is often a busy time of year for RV parks.
It's laundry day today. I haven't done washing since I was in Tacoma. It's piling up!

Well, if I remember right, it wouldn't
the first time you drove in snow.
Be safe.
When I retired, I passed by Wildhorse on October 7,2007 a day ahead of a snow storm. I went all the way past Boise before I got clear weather. Good luck on your run south. Do you have a south destination in mind yet??
