Waterfalls

We took a drive to the East end of Twin Falls to visit Shoshone Falls Park. We've heard a lot about this park and wanted to experience it before time runs out on us. It is laid out in a high plateau half way into the Snake River gorge. It faces a cliff side that, during this time of year, provides the backdrop for several waterfalls. During Spring, the entire cliff face is one huge cascade.

We took the time to pack a picnic lunch. Be prepared to see a lot of pics of waterfalls.

I couldn't help but get a pic of this guy.

A well paved trail resides within the park, the Centennial Trail. We hiked the 2+ miles to the trail's end. It provided views of the gorge all along it.

A look down river.

When we got to the end of the trail we fount this large pile of sand. It is what is left of the ramp Evel Knievel used in his attempt to jump the gorge in his rocket bike.

We finished up the day with a grocery run to Winco and a visit to the local COSTCO. When we got back, we watched a little TV before we turned in. It was another full day.
